TMK acquires Sinara Handel
TMK has completed its acquisition of 100% of the registered share capital of the company Sinara Handel GmbH. The purchase was made within the framework of TMK\'s business expansion strategy.
Sinara Handel GmbH owns a majority shareholding in two Romanian enterprises: the pipe factory SC ARTROM SA (in the town of Slatina) and the metallurgical combine SC S.C.R. SA (in the town of Reshitsa).
ARTROM specialises in the output of seamless pipes for machine-building. The productive capacity of the factory is calculated at 110,000 tonnes of pipes. A new rolling mill is currently being assembled at the enterprise which will enable the output volume of seamless pipes to be doubled at the very minimum. The mill is expected to put into commission at the end 2006.
The SC C.S.R. SA combine possesses a productive capacity of 500,000 tonnes of steel (electric furnace steelmaking) and a rolling capacity of 700,000 tonnes.
