TMK, one of the world’s leading producers of tubular products for the oil and gas industry, has shipped large diameter longitudinal pipe (LDP) to Turkmenenergo State Power Corporation of Turkmenistan’s Ministry of Energy to support the construction of a gas supply pipeline to the Mary-3 gas turbine power plant.
The shipment totalled more than 17 thousand tonnes of 720 mm pipe with external corrosion-resistant coating. The pipes were produced at TMK’s Volzhsky Pipe Plant for the construction of a gas supply pipeline to feed the new gas turbine power plant outside Mary in the Karakum Desert. The gas pipeline project is pursued as part of the state programme to upgrade Turkmenistan’s energy system.
TMK has previously shipped LDP for the construction of water pipelines in Turkmenistan under the state programme to ensure drinking water supply to residential areas, as well as for oil and gas projects developed by Turkmengas State Concern.
“The CIS market is among the key markets for TMK’s products. We seek to grow our share in this market and are willing to offer our customers in this most important oil and gas producing region modern solutions in supplying high-quality tubular products and related services,” said Vladimir Oborsky, Executive Director and Senior Vice President at TMK.
