TMK and the National Petroleum Company of Congo (Société Nationale des Pétroles du Congo, SNPC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding today. TMK CEO Alexander Shiryaev and Director General of the SNPC Maixent Raoul Ominga exchanged the signed documents in the presence of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Congolese President Denis Sassou Nguesso.
The Memorandum solidifies the parties’ intention to jointly plan and develop an oil products pipeline on the territory of the Republic of the Congo with the support of both countries’ governments. TMK plans to use the latest available technologies and the highest-quality materials, equipment and products on the project. Leading research institutes and construction companies will also take part in the project.
“TMK is constantly taking advantage of opportunities to apply its advanced technological solutions toward the extraction and transportation of hydrocarbons, including overseas. This Memorandum is the first step toward our participation in joint projects in the Republic of the Congo,” said Alexander Shiryaev.
