TMK FMC Premium Connection Tested to 5,700 Meters

TMK (LSE: TMKS), one of the world’s largest oil and gas pipe producers, announces today that its TMK FMC premium threaded casing connection was successfully tested to 5,700 meters at the Pirkovskoe gas field.

TMK Premium Service tested the 168.28mm OD TMK FMC premium casing of N80 Q grade and 10.59mm wall thickness at Cadogan Petroleum’s Pirkovskoe gas field.  The field is currently being developed by Astroinvest Ukraine, a Cadogan subsidiary.

This was the first time TMK Premium Service carried out testing at such depths in a vertical gas well.

The premium threaded FMC’s seal integrity and gas tightness were put to the test during running operations as the casing string reached depths of 5,700 meters and encountered pressures of 680 atmospheres. The successful field tests confirmed that the Tagmet-produced TMK FMC threaded casing connections conformed to all customer requirements

The tests were carried out within the frames of a supply contract with Astroinvest Ukraine.  Between July and August 2008, TMK Premium Service supplied more than 400 tonnes of premium threaded TMK FMC casing to Astroinvest Ukraine.
