TMK, one of the world’s leading producers of steel pipes for the oil and gas industry, announces that its longitudinal welded large-diameter pipes were awarded the DNV-OS-F101 certification by Det Norske Veritas (DNV).

The DNV Statement of Compliance (SoC) presented to TMK at the end of December 2009, certifies that the longitudinal welded large-diameter pipes produced at TMK’s Volzhsky Pipe Plant comply with the DNV-OS-F101 requirements for offshore pipelines.  The DNV-OS-F101 certification confirms the high quality of the production process and enables TMK to participate in large-scale subsea pipeline projects.

The installation of Volzhsky’s longitudinal welded large diameter line, part of TMK’s Strategic Investment Programme, was carried out to meet the subsea requirements for tubular products used in the construction of such large-scale offshore pipeline projects as Nord Stream, South Stream, and Shtokman.

While auditing the longitudinal mill, the DNV representatives especially highlighted Volzhsky’s technological potential and the state-of-the-art equipment that allowed TMK to successfully complete the certification.
