TMK Unites Two Premium Connections Families under a Single Brand

TMK, a leading global manufacturer and supplier of steel pipes for the oil and gas industry, united its two premium connections families TMK Premium and ULTRA under a single brand – TMK Ultra Premium (TMK UP).

Pipes with premium connections are designed for oil and gas wells developed in challenging exploration and production conditions, including offshore, deep-sea and the Far North locations, as well as for horizontal and directional wells. The products offer high strength, tightness, excellent bending capacity, and good resistance to other negative external factors.

TMK is among the world's five leading premium connections producers and the leader in the Russian market. Since 2004, TMK has been developing TMK Premium, a proprietary line of premium tubing and casing pipe connections. Following the integration of TMK IPSCO, the Company’s American Division, in 2008, TMK’s premium connections product mix was expanded with ULTRA threads designed by American engineers and widely used for developing unconventional hydrocarbon (shale gas and oil sand) fields in North America.

Over the last few years, TMK's engineers on both sides of the Atlantic have been cooperating closely to develop new types of connections. In 2011, TMK's Orsky Machine Building Plant started producing pipes with ULTRA premium connections. TMK’s premium connections were also successfully certified for compliance with ISO 13679 CAL IV at Oil States Industries (Aberdeen, UK) and Stress Engineering Services (Houston, USA), independent testing centres, proving the supreme quality of the products.

The new recognizable TMK UP brand will unite the two product lines already known in the market, with previously patented products retaining their names.
