TMK and Rosneft discussed joint R&D efforts during TMK’s Tubular Technology Day at its R&D facility in Skolkovo. The meeting recapped the highlights of joint projects and outlined the areas where the two companies could team up to develop and implement high-tech solutions for hydrocarbon production.
One of the key topics discussed at the ТМК R&D Center meeting was the Technology Partnership Program between TMK and Rosneft for 2021–2024. Also, TMK showcased its expertise in engineering and technical solutions for well construction and selecting materials to extend the life of tubulars, shared its experience in rolling out the Eternal Well project, and offered integrated services of TMK and Sinara Group for major infrastructure projects.
The Rosneft team, in its turn, highlighted their progress in improving the reliability of field pipelines, lab-tests on coatings for oil country tubular goods (OCTG) and other areas of focus.
“For many years, TMK has supplied Rosneft with premium threaded connection pipes and pipes made of 13Cr steel and other innovative steel grades, and was the first Russian company to supply high-tech tubular solutions for the offshore production systems on the Sakhalin I project, and is currently involved in other projects. What is more, our companies have been jointly implementing integrated technology initiatives and R&D activities. This synergy helps us find breakthrough solutions to cross-disciplinary engineering problems and contribute to driving the growth of the Russian energy sector through rolling out high-tech domestic products,” said Sergey Chikalov, TMK’s Deputy CEO for Technological Development and Technical Sales.
