TMK reaches the finals of the first national competition NDE Specialist 2021

TMK has been named as a finalist of the first national non-destructive examination competition NDE Specialist 2021 held under the auspices of the Russian Society for Non-Destructive Testing and Technical Diagnostics (RSNTTD) with the support of Russia’s Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Federal Environmental, Industrial and Nuclear Supervision Service of Russia (Rostechnadzor).

The competition aims to promote non-destructive examination as an occupation, which was listed by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation among the top 50 professions that are most in demand on the labor market. Over 350 specialists from 32 Russian regions representing 154 metallurgical, machine-building, oil-refining, chemical, nuclear, electronic and other industrial companies took part in the qualifying round from July 15 through September 15.

Five specialists from three TMK companies – Orsky Machine Building Plant, Seversky Pipe Plant and Sinarsky Pipe Plant – entered the competition. The 59 finalists include Dmitry Romashov, an NDE specialist from Orsky Machine Building Plant, who will represent TMK in the Visual Examination + Magnetic Inspection + Penetrant Inspection category. The finals will be held as part of the 8^th NDT TERRITORY International Industrial Forum held in Moscow from October 18 to 21.

 “A quality assurance capability guaranteeing the highest quality of products is essential for innovative manufacturing. This is a promising area not only for TMK and the wider steel industry, but also for the overall development of Russian industry. That’s why we supported participation in the competition and joined its organizing committee to showcase our skills and share best practices with our colleagues and partners. We are confident that we will do well in the finals and use the learnings from it to improve TMK’s corporate non-destructive testing system,” said Anatoly Sychev, Quality Director at TMK.
