Drill String, Drill Cоlumn

Stepped down string of pipes connecting the rock cutting tool (boring bit) with the surface equipment (drilling rig) for deep hole drilling (e.g. oil and gas wells, etc.). Used to create axial stress, transmit torque to the bit, transmit electric and/or hydraulic power, and supply drilling fluid to clean the bottom hole and lift the cutting.
