Machines used to reduce the cross-sectional area of metal billets and manufacture semi-finished products of specific form, by passing billets between rotating rolls mounted on the frame, which is part of the base unit, called the stand. Cylindrical rolls are used to produce semi-finished flat stock; shaped rolls are used to produce round bar, square profile and molded high-grade steel stock.
