TMK is committed to biodiversity conservation. Aiming to safeguard the environment in its regions of operation, the Company contributes to the projects and programs protecting animals and plants. To restore ecosystems and natural wildlife habitats, every closure of waste disposal facilities is followed by land remediation.
Regular area improvements and greening within production enterprise sites and adjacent areas aim to increase biodiversity across our footprint. Since 2022, TMK has also participated in the national Save the Forest campaign, providing support and engaging its employees to plant 36 thousand saplings in its operating regions.
In 2022, Taganrog Metallurgical Plant (TAGMET) joined efforts with the Russian Federal Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography to monitor the state of plankton (phyto-, zoo-, and ichthyoplankton) within the ecosystem of the Taganrog Bay’s Andreyeva Bight in the Sea of Azov.
